Monday Night Travel: Europe’s Eccentric Art  25:51

Published by: Gabe (Rick Steves' Europe)

Europe is packed with world-famous art treasures...but for a change of pace, join Rick for a virtual tour of some of Europe's more offbeat art. We'll start with a poignant Swiss collection of untrained artists whom society considered "insane." In Oslo, we ogle Gustav Vigeland's evocative statues at Frogner Park. In France, we'll learn about belle-époque Paris and tour Chartres Cathedral's Gothic architecture with guide extraordinaire Malcolm Miller. We’ll visit Salvador Dalí's bizarre home in Catalunya, which is just as wild as his Surrealist art. Then, for a stimulating dose of Slavic art, we'll venture to Bulgaria’s Rila Monastery and Croatia’s Museum of Naive Art in Zagreb. And we'll finish with the fairytale castles of Bavaria's "Mad" King Ludwig.
